Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who set new benchmarks in Indian cinema with the use of new technology in Ra.One, says he would love to do Ra.One 2, but that could take time as the country lacks trained technicians. He says technology and equipment alone aren't enough to make a technologically high-end film. "We have the latest technology and the equipment, but we lack trained technicians. For Ra.One, we had hired 50 foreign-trained technicians. I would love to work in Ra.One 2, but it's not easy. For a film with a different genre like Ra.One, I'll need at least two to three years for preparation," Shah Rukh said. Ra.One, released in 2011, was an ambitious Rs 150-crore ($30 million) project high on world class VFX. It reportedly had 3,500 VFX shots and Shah Rukh had collaborated with Jeffrey Kleiser, co-founder of US-based Synthesian Studios, to supervise the work done by Shah Rukh's Red Chillies VFX team. Red Chillies VFX, a subdivision of Shah Rukh's motion picture production banner Red Chillies Entertainment, also provides the necessary technology and special effects to other filmmakers in the country. One of the forthcoming projects his special effects team has worked on is Rakesh Roshan's Krrish 3, the trailer of which has already received kudos for its visual imagery and technology-induced action sequences. "For Rakesh Roshan's film, Krrish 3, the equipment is from our company. We have trained over 200 technicians in the last five years. They are very good, but the vision has to come from Rakesh Roshan. If you have the vision and technology, the technicians can be changed," added Shah Rukh, stressing on the importance of filmmakers thinking beyond what's easy. The change is already setting in, King Khan felt. It reflected in films like Anurag Kashyap's Gangs of Wasseypur and Anurag Basu's Barfi!. "There have always been all kinds of filmmakers who make films like Iron Man, Batman and Chak De! India at the same time. It's always parallel. When I did DDLJ ('Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge), there was Maya Memsaab too. There are Gangs of Wasseypur and Barfi!, all kinds of films being made. It is good," said Shah Rukh. His mantra is to reinvent himself by working in different genres. "I always try to work on a different genre. I feel the industry has given me name, fame and money and I won't ever forgive myself if I won't do anything beneficial for Indian cinema and my fans," he added.

Actress Priyanka Chopra says she is not bothered about the clash in the release date of her film Zanjeer with that of her cousin Parineeti Chopra's Shuddh Desi Romance. The Chopra sisters' films are set to clash at box office on September 6 but Priyanka is undeterred. "She is my sister, my family. It is very cheap when people try to create controversy and use that to write a little more about it. It is a Chopra weekend and people must enjoy it," said Priyanka. After making her international singing debut, Priyanka has lent her voice to Disney's animated film Planes. She has dubbed for an Indian plane called Ishani in the movie, which is a spin-off of Cars and Cars 2. "Every little girl wants to be a Disney princess, from sleeping beauty to Cinderella. Even I wanted to be a Disney fairy. This is the closest I could come to being a Disney princess, Ishani," Priyanka said. "When I saw the film, it was like initially weird that a plane is talking in my voice. I am very animated, I open my eyes and talk. It is creatively different, it is novel. It is an exciting venture for me, not too many people have done it," she said. Priyanka feels there are a few similarities between her and Ishani - she is confident, races with big bad boys and she is tough. The actress says she believes in working wherever work calls her. "I am an entertainer, performer, I go where I get work. It is not a crossover for me, I don't believe in this word. I am happy in this Indian film industry, love Hindi films, it is like an expansion to me," she said. "Every person wants to grow, I want to work wherever I can. I am handling two careers, it is an exciting time," she said, adding that she would be happy to lend her voice to a Hindi film, provided the offer is interesting.

Ranbir Kapoor: Last five years have been grateful
Grateful at having worked with "interesting filmmakers" since his 2007 debut, actor Ranbir Kapoor confessed that playing himself in his forthcoming release Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (YJHD) is "harder" than enacting characters in his previous films. "I am grateful that I got to work with such good directors. I was at the right place at the right time... I got these opportunities and I was intelligent enough to grab it. "I think these (Anurag Basu, Ayan Mukerji) are really interesting filmmakers. They have great things to say through their movies... I just kind of tag along on their vision," said Ranbir here.
Son of veteran actors Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh, Ranbir made his debut in director Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 2007 film Saawariya which didn't find favour at the box office. However, his work in his subsequent ventures Wake Up Sid, Rockstar and Barfi! won him accolades and awards.
Describing his celluloid journey so far as "amazing", Ranbir acknowledged that his passion and profession are the same.
"It's been amazing. I don't know how these five years have passed... I don't know how these nine film have released. I am really happy that I get to do what I love and I think what is important is that you should do what you love," he said.
His next film is Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. Directed by Ayan Mukerji it also stars Deepika Padukone.
"Rockstar and Barfi! are far more easier for me because I am playing a character. In films like YJHD, I have to play myself, which is way more harder because you have to reflect your own personality," he explained.
Produced by Dharma Productions, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, releasing on May 31, also stars Kalki Koechlin and Aditya Roy Kapur.

Written By Unknown on Monday, May 13, 2013 | 11:43 AM
Filmmaker Subhash Ghai, who is currently busy with his directorial venture Kaanchi, calls it a promising film that has been made with great energy and passion."Kaanchi is a very promising film. I have made it with great energy and passion and I hope that you (audience) will feel that energy and passion in the theatre," Ghai told reporters here Saturday during the celebration of 100 years of Indian cinema at his institute Whistling Woods International.
Kaanchi features Kartik Tiwari and newcomer Mishti in the lead roles. The film also features Rishi Kapoor and Mithoon Chakraborty.
In his more than three-decade-long career so far, Subhash Ghai not only discovered talents like Manisha Koirala (with Saudagar) and Mahima Chaudhry (with Pardes) but has also worked with big and established stars like Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit and Shah Rukh Khan, among others.
And now in his latest directorial Kaanchi, he is working with new faces but for Subhash Ghai, it is the story which is important.
According to him, everyone who can pull out the character in his film, is a star for him.
"For me, only that person is star who is in front of the camera at that moment, whether he is a newcomer, or a star," Subhash Ghai said.
"For me, my subject, my story (that I am telling) is important. For me, all the actors with whom I am working are superstars and vice-versa. Even a superstar is always an actor for me, who is playing a character," he added.
Kaanchi is a love story of a young, beautiful girl from northern mountains, who fights against power.
It is slated to release Aug 30.

Dev Goel wants a superhit debut like Stallone's Rocky
Dev Goel, son of director Jyotin Goel, is set to make his debut as an actor and writer with comedy Hum Hai Raahi Car Ke. He says he will be very happy if his debut film also becomes a hit just like the film Rocky proved for the Hollywood star Sylvester Stallone. Stallone also made his debut as an actor and writer in Hollywood with the 1976-released film Rocky. The film was a sleeper hit and even won three Oscars, including one for the best picture. It made Stallone a big star and went on to have five sequels.
All these five sequels were written by Stallone and also starred him.
"The only time when this (making debut as a writer and actor with a film) happened before it was in Hollywood, where Stallone wrote and debuted in the same movie with 'Rocky' and that went on to be a super-duper hit," Dev said here in an interview.
"So if I even achieve one-tenth of that, I will be very happy," he added.
Hum Hai Raahi Car Ke is a comic misadventure and tells the story of one night road trip of the two protagonists. The film has been directed and produced by Jyotin.
Besides Dev, the film also features Adah Sharma, Sanjay Dutt, Juhi Chawla, Anupam Kher, Rati Agnihotri and Vivek Vaswani.
Dev, who plays the main lead in the film, finds acting more enjoyable than writing for the film.
"I enjoyed the acting part much more. I will be honest with you, the writing part is very much 'like you have to think, you have to put your own thoughts, you have to spew out words...' but with the acting part you get to interact with so many people," Dev said.
"Even the things which you thought about the character, an actual actor can take that thought to a totally different level, so it's fantastic. You can see it come to life and you are having fun working with it," he added.
Hum Hai Raahi Car Ke hits the screens on May 24.

These actresses romanced father and son on-screen
Madhuri Dixit has done an item number in the upcoming film Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani with Ranbir Kapoor. Over a decade ago, Madhuri matched steps with Ranbir's dad Rishi Kapoor in Yaarana and Prem Granth. Here's an ode to these timeless actresses who managed to romance both father and son on the big screen.
Madhuri Dixit
Rishi and Ranbir Kapoor were not the only father-son jodi that Madhuri got to romance. In Feroz Khan's 1988 film Dayavan, she was paired opposite Vinod Khanna.
At that time, Madhuri was 20 and Vinod 42 but their sensuous song together, Aaj phir tumpe, became a rage. Nine years later, Madhuri was paired opposite Vinod Khanna's son Akshaye in Mohabbat which was directed by her then manager Rakesh Nath's wife Reema.
Dimple Kapadia
Sunny Deol and Dimple Kapadia came together in 1984 with Manzil Manzil. Later, Dharmendra acted with Dimple in Mast Kalandar in 1991 and, in fact, both of them even had a kiss in their next film Dushman Devta which also released in 1991.
Sridevi
This is a rare case when an actress worked with the son first and then the father. In 1990, Sridevi worked with Dharmendra as his lead in a film called Naka Bandi. Earlier in 1989, Sridevi worked with Sunny Deol in Chaalbaaz. In fact there are five other films in which Sridevi and Dharmendra were seen together.
Rani Mukherji
It was 2001 when Rani Mukerji and Abhishek Bachchan worked for Bas Itna Sa Khwab Hai. They later did films like Yuva, Bunty Aur Babli and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. In 2005, Rani and Amitabh Bachchan worked together in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Black. They even shared a kiss in the film.
Amrita Singh
She made her debut with Sunny Deol in Betaabi in 1983. Six years down the line she worked with his dad Dharmendra in Sachai Ki Taqat as his wife.

Amitabh Bachchan: Don't see The Great Gatsby role as Hollywood debut
Amitabh Bachchan has called his belated Hollywood debut in The Great Gatsby "just a friendly gesture" but would not mind doing an encore if he comes across something interesting."I don't look upon it as my Hollywood debut. It is just a friendly gesture and nothing more. It is just a small scene with Gatsby and his friend, played by Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire. Meyer Wolfsheim is looked upon as some kind of mentor to Gatsby in the story," Bachchan told PTI in an interview over phone from Mumbai.
Asked whether he is open to doing more Hollywood films, Bachchan said, "I don't know... If something is offered and I need to consider, I will certainly consider it."The Baz Luhrmann directed film, a 3D adaptation of F Scott Fitzgerald's 1925 novel, is set in the roaring 1920s of America and stars DiCaprio, Maguire and Carey Mulligan in lead roles. Warner Bros is releasing the film in India on May 17, just two days after its screening at Cannes film festival.
Bachchan's appearance in the Hollywood film comes after a successful four-decade-long career in India as he "never came upon a Hollywood role" before.
The megastar is seen sporting sideburns and impressive whiskers in the movie, something that Luhrmann came up with.
"The look was Luhrmann's idea. I have got nothing to do with it. I only told him that I can't remove my beard because I was in the middle of continuity and he incorporated that."
Asked about re-teaming with the Australian director, he said, "That's something he will have to decide. I can't speak for him but it would be wonderful if he does and it would be fantastic if he were to ask me to work again."
Bachchan is happy that India is making its presence felt globally with its cinematic culture.
"I am delighted that India is being looked upon as a nation that is culturally important as far as cinema is concerned. A lot of talent is going across and working in Hollywood, there are many co-productions.
"We hope that in future many films get shot here and also have Indian artistes in it. I find these are happy moments."
Bachchan first met Luhrmann, who is famous for his colourful movies set on a huge canvas, while the director was on a private trip to India.
"I was quite surprised that he (Luhrmann) wanted to meet me or knew who I was. We met but we did not talk about any film. He was just touring India. One day he called me and said,'there is a small, little role. I know this is not big for you but I would be really happy if you could do it.' So I said, 'fine'," says Bachchan recounting how he came onboard for the film.
Besides the cameo, Bachchan's famous baritone also appears in one of the songs in the movie. Rapper Jay-Z, who is behind the music in the film, has incorporated a portion of his dialogue in one of the tracks.
"Jay-Z who has done the music on it, wanted to use a portion of my dialogue in the song that he has composed. Baz Luhrmann just asked me whether he could use my voice. The song probably has something to do who Gatsby is," Bachchan said.
Describing his meeting with DiCaprio and Maguire, Bachchan said they were very normal and friendly.
"We did not talk about Indian films. I don't think they (DiCaprio and Maguire) know me at all but it was nice meeting them and they were just very casual, normal individuals. They were very friendly, very warm and very cooperative."
Bachchan spent about a week shooting his part and was charmed by the professionalism on the movie set.
"We worked for 2-3 days in preparation and I think about two days of shooting. It was just marvellous to watch the kind of dedication that people have on sets. Yes, the atmosphere is no different from any other set but there is a certain method of working where everybody has designated jobs and goes ahead and fulfils it in the most efficient manner possible.
"There is huge amount of professionalism, great research and detailing that goes into preparing something like this, especially if it is a period film and this was about 1920s New York."

After that she appeared in films in cameo appearances. She was last seen in a prominent role in Karan Johar's home production We Are Family (2010).
When she is not doing movies, Kajol said her two children- daughter Nysa and son Yug-- and husband's production house keep her busy.

"We also have a production house-- Ajay Devgn Films. I am not involved in it 24x7. But yes, I like overseeing everything," she said.
Her pairing with superstar Shah Rukh Khan had been a highlight of her career, as they delivered a number of romantic hits like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, among others.
"I think it is got to do with the movies we have made together. They have all done well. There is a cinematic history that has contributed to the overall persona of us as a pair. We share a good comfort level and are also good friends," she said.

Chitrangada Singh to divorce golf star husband
When they married 12 years ago, the golfing fraternity called it a "pair that was made in heaven." Since the Nineties, Indian golf found a place in the international map with men like Jyoti Randhawa grabbing the spotlight with his immaculate scores across world Tour events. He 'graduated' to the 'next' level wedding actress Chitrangada Singh. Indian golf finally found its first 'celebrity' couple. After months of dodging the media about their reportedly 'fragile' relationship, Chitrangada finally filed for divorce by mutual consent at the Gurgaon family court on Friday (10.05.2013). The case was heard by district judge Baljit Singh, who has fixed the next date of hearing on November 11. The couple have a son, Zorawar.
Golf insiders say Jyoti's relationship with his actress wife was going from bad to worse. Chitrangada has Bollywood aspirations and Jyoti still is a top golfer. "The distance between them was always growing ever since she wanted to pursue her own professional acting career," said a golf management professional, adding: "She never had acting aspirations till she saw herself in an audio-visual for a golf show."
Born in Meerut to an Army family, Chitrangada debuted in Hazaaron Khwaishen Aisi in 2003. Since then she has acted in Rohit Dhawan's Desi Boyz in 2011 and more recently, Inkaar and I, Me Aur Main.
After turning professional in 1994, Jyoti was among the world's top 100 golfer several times between 2004 and 2009. In 2002, he finished top on the Asian Tour money list. His best finish on the European Tour is tied second in the 2004 Johnnie Walker Classic. He has 10 professional Tour wins, eight of them on Asia.
"When they married they were really in love. Jyoti was already a star then. Chitrangada was just a pretty face but she was happy to be Jyoti's wife and even caddy for him on international tournaments," said the golf insider, who has closely mapped Jyoti's golf career.

On the occasion of Mother's Day, Akshay gets candid and showers Twinkle with praises. "I want to tell her that the success of our family has always lain in her hands. It was never my success as a man, or as anything else for that matter. It is because Tina (Twinkle) has dedicated the last decade of her life to the best thing in both our lives, our children," Akshay said in a statement.
"She lives every minute of her life for them, while I only work every minute I'm not with them," added the actor known for hits like Namaste London and Special 26.

Will Manyata Dutt step in to promote husband Sanjay Dutt's Policegiri?
Producer TP Aggarwal, who recently wrapped up shooting for Sanjay Dutt starrer Policegiri, says the actor's wife Manyata "may step in" to promote the film, but clarified nothing has been "finalised" yet. "We have not decided how to promote the film. Manyata may step in, but I can't confirm on that. I will have a meeting with Sanjay before we decide anything," Aggarwal told IANS.
"Sanjay has finished the shooting a few days back. He has even finished the dubbing, so the film is ready," he added.
Sanjay, whose was hoping to get relief in 1993 Mumbai blasts, is expected to surrender on May 16 after Supreme Court on Friday rejected his review petition.
The actor's conviction under the Arms Act in 1993 Mumbai serial bomb blasts case was upheld by the apex court.
The top court, while upholding Sanjay's conviction under the Arms Act, has reduced his sentence from six years to five years. With the rejection of his plea, he is expected to surrender to serve his remaining three-and-half-year term.
Agagrwal said: "It's very sad that his plea was rejected. He has already suffered a lot. I am still hoping things might change."
Aggarwal feels Policegiri is one of Sanjay's best works so far.
"The film is looking really good. I can assure you this is one of Sanjay Dutt's best work so far. The film is slated for July 5 release and I believe we have made a good film."
Policegiri, a Hindi remake of 2003 Tamil hit Saamy, is directed by KS Ravi Kumar and it also features Prachi Desai in the female lead.
